About Usha
My name is Usha, and I bring over 20 years of experience as a childcare provider, infant/toddler teacher, and preschool teacher. I have worked both from my home and with some of the most respected schools in the Bay Area. I have completed early childhood development and curriculum coursework through local colleges and am CPR and First Aid certified, with comprehensive training in health, safety, and COVID-19 protocols.
Over the past 18+ years, I have cared for hundreds of children, many of whom are now thriving in middle school and high school—excelling academically as well as in extracurricular activities. Watching children grow with confidence, curiosity, and kindness has been the most rewarding part of my journey.
I was born in the beautiful coastal town of Udupi, India, and raised in Pune, where I earned my bachelor’s degree from Pune University. In 2005, I moved to the Bay Area with my husband and son. My passion for early childhood education began when I volunteered at my son’s preschool, which soon inspired me to open my own home daycare in Cupertino so I could be present during his elementary and middle school years.
In 2016, I joined Bright Horizons, where I worked as an infant/toddler teacher, young preschool teacher, and preschool teacher. In 2020, when my son was admitted to UC Santa Barbara, our family moved to the San Ramon Twin Creeks area—a community we truly love for its warmth and friendly neighbors.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy cooking, gardening, walking, and hiking. I am energetic, positive, and known for my good sense of humor and “I can do it” attitude when facing new challenges. I strongly believe that teaching is a noble profession, and I deeply value partnering with parents to support each child’s growth, learning, and happiness.
